Pashmina Care Guide
Handcrafted luxury, hand-sourced from India
Your pashmina will last a lifetime — if you treat it kindly
Pashmina is one of the most durable natural fibres in the world, but it rewards gentle handling. Follow these simple guidelines and your piece will remain as beautiful in twenty years as it is today.
Washing
We recommend dry cleaning for embroidered pieces — the silk thread can shrink slightly if wet. For plain and printed pashminas, hand washing is perfectly safe.
- Fill a basin with cool water and add a small amount of gentle wool wash or baby shampoo.
- Submerge the pashmina and gently agitate for no more than two minutes. Do not wring or scrub.
- Rinse twice in cool, clean water until the water runs clear.
- Lay flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll the towel up gently to absorb excess water.
- Reshape and lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight or heat.
Storing
Store your pashmina folded (not hung) in a breathable cotton bag. Keep it away from direct light and place a cedar block nearby to protect against moths.
Pilling
All pashmina will pill slightly with regular wear. This is not a defect — it is simply the nature of the fibre. Remove pills gently with a cashmere comb on the lowest setting.
